Lydias House Inc

Lydias house inc is a home for women ages 18 and over with a variety of needs including those who have been in prison, or are homeless from rehabilitation centers, have been battered or abused, as well as unwed mothers. lydias house staff will be mentoring these women in a variety of skills necssary for them to develop character and discipline, by using educational materials and moral principles. we will do this by providing them with educational programs that includes enrollment in classes to obtain their ged and employment skills that will enable them to join the job market as productive citizens. we will also be teaching them life skills such as housekeeping, cooking, laundry, and child care to enable them to become good wives and mothers. this year lydias house has taught six women various life changing skills. when the women complete the full program (one year) we conduct a graduation ceremony. one of the previous graduates has stayed on to serve as volunteer staff while maintaining an outside job in the community.
