Mission

The organization is dedicated to combining education and advocacy to expand opportunities for children and families in order to strengthen the voice of the latino community based on the belief that the most effective way to support latino families is by building upon their existing strengths and fostering their self-sufficiency. Chcf provides a number of programs and services to the community through youth development programs and early care & education institute. Our services amplify the voice of our communities on the local, state, and national levels around the issues of child welfare, early care, education, juvenile justice, and well-being of latino children. Early head start - our early head start program provides free, high-quality childcare services to 223 children in the bronx and brooklyn, in partnership with trusted childcare providers and a center-based program in the bronx. Our holistic approach encompasses the entire family, childcare providers, and the community, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes healthy development, social-emotional growth, and school readiness.we offer free educational childcare services to low-income families, children in foster care, homeless families, and other vulnerable populations. Our program is designed to support families in achieving their goals, providing a foundation for long-term success and stability. Our program works in partnership with childcare providers to offer the necessary supports to the families they serve. This collaborative approach ensures that families receive comprehensive services, including:- free diapers, wipes, nutritious meals and formula throughout our program- individualized support and guidance for families- access to community resources and referrals- opportunities for parental involvement and educationin our center-based program, we employ the reggio emilia approach, a child-led and inquiry-based method that fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
