That effect the common good and interest in the church. a united voice and for acting with joint effort and resources in promoting the welfare of the church and its members as well as the common good of all its citizens of the state. the mission is to give witness to spiritual values in public affairs and to provide an agency for service to catholics in connecticut. the objectives of the corporation are: 1. to provide moral leadership and vision to catholics and other people of goodwill, particularly in the area of public policy; 2. to help identify the needs of the people of connecticut in areas of morality, social welfare, health, education, and human civil rights, and to help plan the orderly development of resources to meet these needs; 3. to represent and speak officially for the dioceses in connecticut before the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government and before voluntary associations and private organizations; 4. to formulate an advance policy positions regarding government policies, programs and legislation which affect the common good and the interest of the church; 5. to develop and coordinate interdiocesan programs and projects that address statewide social and pastoral needs; 6. to work with other institutions and organizations, including the united states conference of catholic bishops, to promote the material and spiritual wellbeing of the people of connecticut, to prevent and eliminate conditions which threaten justice, human dignity, and integral human development; 7. and, to foster public understanding of gospel values and the church teaching, especially catholic social teaching.
