{"success":true,"data":{"id":460506224,"name":"GRAPEVINE OUTREACH","description":"Form 990-ez, part iii- organization's primary exempt purpose:provide educational opportunities for individuals affected by domestic violence and drug abuse; and opportunities to engage in vocational, service and ministry activities. teenagers supervised by adult mentors.Form 990-ez, part iii, line 28- statement of program service accomplishmentsthe grapevine outreach ministers to many young women, at-risk children, and teenagers. the women come from various troubled backgrounds which include drug abuse and domestic violence. many of the women participating in grapevine's programs are getting ready to parole from the local prisons and are in a drug furloh program. the young people, generally ages 12 to 18, come from group homes in orange and riverside counties. the grapevine also serves youth in the nearby neighborhoods, providing a much needed alternative to gang activities or other undesirable recreation alternatives. a club for local kids is held weekly providing opportunities for community service, arts and crafts, birthday celebrations and religious studies. relationship classes are taught at the grapevine center with many women participating. faith-based curriculum is presented with sensitivity and specific application to the education level and personal experiences of these women. the women typically attend the class anywhere from two to six weeks. this year, every week approximately 40 individuals attended art classes at the grapevine. and 100 to 130 at-risk women and children attended grapevine relationship classes every week. the crafts produced in the art classes were distributed to needy individuals at local shelters or sold at a christmas boutique to benefit programs for the women at the shelters and in the drug furlough program. the grapevine also reaches out to these especially challenged members of the community during the holidays, through special events held to celebrate changed lives and encourage many.The grapevine also impacts the lives and attitudes of young adults and youth members of local churches. these kids visit the center monthly to assist with craft preparations for the other group sessions. many benefit from the programs at grapevine every week, by participating in life-changing teaching on healthy relationships and by being a part of meaningful opportunities to serve others in need.The grapevine outreach continues to make a difference in our local community to women and children in need.","category":"990EZ","sector":"Human Services","website":"WWW.GRAPEVINEOUTREACH.ORG","phone":"","year":2014,"founded":null,"state":"CA","revenue":99627.0,"expenses":94098.0,"assets":17028.0,"governanceScore":0,"governanceMax":8,"rating":0.12880833328167063},"error":null}
