Available at 17 sites throughout san diego, this program serves 2,000 patients and is considered a model program by the united states department of health and human services. Project dulce is a collaboration between the institute, san diego community health improvement partners, and the san diego council of community clinics. The institute conducts 50-60 courses per year for trained professionals that desire greater knowledge in the treatment and care of individuals with diabetes. The courses are conducted on site in the institute's education center or trained teams are sent across the country and around the world to meet the demand for specialized diabetes education.
