You will be one of 1,500 people working hard at service projects throughout the city. That's 5,000 hours of service in a single day.\n\nCorporate fee for service leverages seattle works' volunteer project development expertise to engage employee groups and other community members in service. Seattle works developed and managed five projects in 2010, which benefitted local elementary schools and hunger-relief organizations.\n\nTeam works enables participants to experience volunteering with different organizations while connecting with a team of peers. Teams of 15 volunteer together one saturday per month for four months, each time focusing on a different community issue at a different organization. Team works volunteers completed 236 projects in 2010.\n\nOther programs include hot projects (a drop-in volunteer program to allow participants to experience different kinds of volunteering without a long-term commitment), service trips (a travel volunteer program in which teams immerse themselves in a deep volunteer experience), corporate fee programs, mentor programs, vire, the bridge (a training course that gives volunteers the tools and resources to serve on nonprofit boards and public commissions), election education, board works, and civic engagement programs.\n\nThe bridge provides the basics in nonprofit and government board service. Over the course of the series, participants learn about roles and responsibilities of nonprofit and public board members and complete personal skill and interest assessments. Following the course, seattle works helps connect graduates with a community leadership role. 229 people completed the bridge in 2010.\n\nHands on leadership is a skills-based volunteer program that links emerging business leaders with local non-profits.
