ASC 820 clarifies that fair value is an exit price, representing the amount that would be received upon the sale of an asset, or the amount paid to transfer a liability in an orderly transaction between market participants. As such, fair value is a market-based measurement that should be determined based on assumptions that market participants would use in pricing an asset or liability.ASC 820 established a framework for measuring fair value. That framework provides a fair value hierarchy that prioritizes the inputs to valuation techniques used to measure fair value. The hierarchy gives the highest priority to unadjusted quoted prices in active markets for identical assets or liabilities (level 1 measurements) and the lowest priority to unobservable inputs (level 3 measurements).The three levels of the fair value hierarchy under ASC 820 are described below:Level 1Inputs to the valuation methodology are unadjusted quoted prices for identical assets or liabilities in active markets that the Trust has the ability to access.Level 2Inputs to the valuation methodology include: - Quoted prices for similar assets or liabilities in active markets; - Quoted prices for identical or similar assets or liabilities in inactive markets; - Inputs other than quoted prices that are observable for the asset or liability; - Inputs that are derived principally from or corroborated by observable market data by correlation or other means. If the asset or liability has a specified (contractual) term, the Level 2 input must be observable for substantially the full term of the asset or liability.Level 3Inputs to the valuation methodology are unobservable and significant to the fair value measurement.The asset or liability's fair value measurement level within the fair value hierarchy is based on the lowest level of any input that is significant to the fair value measurement. Valuation techniques used need to maximize the use of observable inputs and minimize the use of unobservable inputs.The preceding methods described may produce a fair value calculation that may not be indicative of net realizable value or reflective of future fair values. Furthermore, although the Trust believes its valuation methods are appropriate and consistent with other market participants, the use of different methodologies or assumptions to determine the fair value of certain financial instruments could result in a different fair value measurement at the reporting date.The Trust has adopted the reporting requirements of FASB Accounting Standards Update 2010-06, Fair Value Measurements and Disclosures: Improving Disclosures about Fair Value Measurements, which changes the way transfers in and out of Levels 1 and 2, activity in Level 3 fair value measurements, and inputs and valuation techniques are reported. There are three general valuation techniques that may be used to measure fair value, as described below: Market approach Uses prices and other relevant information generated by market transactions involving identical or comparable assets or liabilities. Prices may be indicated by pricing guides, sale transactions, market trades, or other sources; Cost approach Based on the amount that currently would be required to replace the service capacity of an asset (replacement cost); Income approach Uses valuation techniques to convert future amounts to a single present amount based on current market expectations about the future amounts (includes present value techniques, and option-pricing models). Net present value is an income approach where a stream of expected cash flows is discounted at an appropriate market interest rate.Assets itemized below were measured at fair value during the year ended December 31, 2012 using the market approach.The following tables set forth by level, within the fair value hierarchy, the trust's assets at fair value as of December 31, 2012 and 2011:December 31, 2012Money Market Funds Level 1 $458,597Corporate Bonds Level 2 $4,316,640Certificate of Deposits Level 2 $4,415,751Total $9,190,988December 31, 2011Money Market Funds Level 1 $1,176,838Corporate Bonds Level 2 $2,197,693Certificate of Deposits Level 2 $7,183,556Total $10,558,087There were no significant transfers in or out of Levels 1 or 2 during 2012 or 2011.The following schedule summarizes unrestricted marketable U.S. Treasury Obligations and Corporate Bond investment returns and the classification included in the Statement of Activities for the years ended December 31, 2012 and 2011:2012Interest and Dividends $299,568Realized/Unrealized Gains $246,5282011Interest and Dividends $454,686Realized/Unrealized Gains $12,275"}]},"ScheduleI":{"reported_domestic_org_grants":0,"reported_domestic_individual_grants":0,"total_domestic_grants":0},"ScheduleF":{"reported_foreign_grants":0},"ScheduleN":{"termination_or_liquidation":{"assets_distributed":true,"liabilities_paid":true,"bonds_outstanding":false,"bond_liabilities_discharged":false,"required_to_notify_attorney_general":false,"attorney_general_notified":false},"successor_relationships":{"director_of_successor":false,"employee_of_successor":false,"owner_of_successor":false},"liquidations":[{"ein":876122720,"irc_section":"501(c)(9)","distribution_date":"2012-12-31T00:00:00","description":"10,827,514","fair_market_value":10827514,"method_of_fmv_determination":"publicly traded sec","address_line1":"2621 South 3270 West","city":"Salt Lake City","state":"UT","zip":"84119","address":"2621 South 3270 West, Salt Lake City, UT, 84119"}]},"source_xml":"201332679349300833_public.xml"},{"Organization":{"Hours":[0],"Total Compensation":[0],"Direct compensation":[0],"Other compensation":[0]},"Basic":{"mission":"This trust fund is a taft-hartley collectively bargained erisa health & welfare benefits trust. ASC 820 clarifies that fair value is an exit price, representing the amount that would be received upon the sale of an asset, or the amount paid to transfer a liability in an orderly transaction between market participants. As such, fair value is a market-based measurement that should be determined based on assumptions that market participants would use in pricing an asset or liability.ASC 820 established a framework for measuring fair value. That framework provides a fair value hierarchy that prioritizes the inputs to valuation techniques used to measure fair value. The hierarchy gives the highest priority to unadjusted quoted prices in active markets for identical assets or liabilities (level 1 measurements) and the lowest priority to unobservable inputs (level 3 measurements).The three levels of the fair value hierarchy under ASC 820 are described below:Level 1Inputs to the valuation methodology are unadjusted quoted prices for identical assets or liabilities in active markets that the Trust has the ability to access.Level 2Inputs to the valuation methodology include: - Quoted prices for similar assets or liabilities in active markets; - Quoted prices for identical or similar assets or liabilities in inactive markets; - Inputs other than quoted prices that are observable for the asset or liability; - Inputs that are derived principally from or corroborated by observable market data by correlation or other means. If the asset or liability has a specified (contractual) term, the Level 2 input must be observable for substantially the full term of the asset or liability.Level 3Inputs to the valuation methodology are unobservable and significant to the fair value measurement.The asset or liability's fair value measurement level within the fair value hierarchy is based on the lowest level of any input that is significant to the fair value measurement. Valuation techniques used need to maximize the use of observable inputs and minimize the use of unobservable inputs.The preceding methods described may produce a fair value calculation that may not be indicative of net realizable value or reflective of future fair values. Furthermore, although the Trust believes its valuation methods are appropriate and consistent with other market participants, the use of different methodologies or assumptions to determine the fair value of certain financial instruments could result in a different fair value measurement at the reporting date.The Trust has adopted the reporting requirements of FASB Accounting Standards Update 2010-06, Fair Value Measurements and Disclosures: Improving Disclosures about Fair Value Measurements, which changes the way transfers in and out of Levels 1 and 2, activity in Level 3 fair value measurements, and inputs and valuation techniques are reported. There are three general valuation techniques that may be used to measure fair value, as described below: Market approach Uses prices and other relevant information generated by market transactions involving identical or comparable assets or liabilities. Prices may be indicated by pricing guides, sale transactions, market trades, or other sources; Cost approach Based on the amount that currently would be required to replace the service capacity of an asset (replacement cost); Income approach Uses valuation techniques to convert future amounts to a single present amount based on current market expectations about the future amounts (includes present value techniques, and option-pricing models). Net present value is an income approach where a stream of expected cash flows is discounted at an appropriate market interest rate.Assets itemized below were measured at fair value during the year ended December 31, 2012 using the market approach.The following tables set forth by level, within the fair value hierarchy, the trust's assets at fair value as of December 31, 2012 and 2011:December 31, 2012Money Market Funds Level 1 $458,597Corporate Bonds Level 2 $4,316,640Certificate of Deposits Level 2 $4,415,751Total $9,190,988December 31, 2011Money Market Funds Level 1 $1,176,838Corporate Bonds Level 2 $2,197,693Certificate of Deposits Level 2 $7,183,556Total $10,558,087There were no significant transfers in or out of Levels 1 or 2 during 2012 or 2011.The following schedule summarizes unrestricted marketable U.S. Treasury Obligations and Corporate Bond investment returns and the classification included in the Statement of Activities for the years ended December 31, 2012 and 2011:2012Interest and Dividends $299,568Realized/Unrealized Gains $246,5282011Interest and Dividends $454,686Realized/Unrealized Gains $12,275"}]},"ScheduleI":{"reported_domestic_org_grants":0,"reported_domestic_individual_grants":0,"total_domestic_grants":0},"ScheduleF":{"reported_foreign_grants":0},"ScheduleN":{"termination_or_liquidation":{"assets_distributed":true,"liabilities_paid":true,"bonds_outstanding":false,"bond_liabilities_discharged":false,"required_to_notify_attorney_general":false,"attorney_general_notified":false},"successor_relationships":{"director_of_successor":false,"employee_of_successor":false,"owner_of_successor":false},"liquidations":[{"ein":876122720,"irc_section":"501(c)(9)","distribution_date":"2012-12-31T00:00:00","description":"10,827,514","fair_market_value":10827514,"method_of_fmv_determination":"publicly traded sec","address_line1":"2621 South 3270 West","city":"Salt Lake City","state":"UT","zip":"84119","address":"2621 South 3270 West, Salt Lake City, UT, 84119"}]},"Ratings":{"Mission Deployment Rate":{"score":null},"Program Expense Ratio":{"score":null},"Fundraising Efficiency":{"score":null,"percentile":null},"Filing Consistency Score":{"score":1.0},"Grant Itemization Coverage":{"score":null},"Independent Voting Board Pct":{"score":1.0},"Operating Margin":{"score":-0.20108599961672582,"percentile":0.19704917325044252},"Operating Reserve Ratio":{"score":0.0,"percentile":0.026800149493383534},"Liabilities to Assets Ratio":{"score":null,"percentile":null},"Officer Compensation Ratio":{"score":null,"percentile":null},"Program Expense Growth":{"score":null,"percentile":null},"Revenue Growth":{"score":-0.0771872645471794,"percentile":0.18467219794534173},"Asset Growth":{"score":-0.8573454017905543,"percentile":0.006220114549944827},"Foreign Oversight Score":{"score":null},"Major-Donor Itemization":{"score":null},"Related-Party Transparency":{"score":null},"Pay-Setting Controls":{"score":1.0,"weight":5,"atoms":{"Compensation committee":{"value":true},"Independent compensation consultant":{"value":true},"Form 990 of other organizations reviewed":{"value":true},"Written employment contract":{"value":true},"Compensation survey or study":{"value":true},"Board or committee approval":{"value":true}}},"Governance Policy Score":{"score":0.7777777777777778,"weight":5,"atoms":{"Conflict of interest policy":{"value":true},"Whistle blower policy":{"value":true},"Document retention policy":{"value":true},"Compensation process for CEO":{"value":false},"Compensation process for other employees":{"value":false},"Form 990 provided to governing body":{"value":true},"Minutes of governing body":{"value":true},"Audit committee":{"value":true},"Independent audit financial statements":{"value":true}}},"Categories":{"Financial Efficiency":{"score":null,"weight":45},"Transparency & Controls":{"score":1.0,"weight":20},"Accountability":{"score":0.9074074074074074,"weight":14},"Sustainability":{"score":0.13156877949772752,"weight":13},"Growth":{"score":0.12518817014687608,"weight":8}},"Overall Score":{"score":0.6439200581518031,"percentile":0.2167270952182826}},"source_xml":"201332679349300833_public.xml"},"sector":"Mutual/Membership Benefit","donation_categories":[],"zakat_policy":null},"error":null}
