evening cultural events are held regularly, providing an opportunity for the community to engage with and learn about kumeyaay traditions and heritage. these events are held monthly. meals are organized as part of the program, fostering a sence of community and connection among participants. these events are closely tied to the humanities courses, forming an integral part of the curriculum and providing additioanl enrichment to students. in terms of subcontractor services, kumeyaay community college uses a third party to for the printing of flyers for cultural events, as well as marketing services. these flyers are instrumental in promoting seasonal cultural events such as the agave roast, kumeyaay acorn gathering, and native foods celebrations. these events provide an immersive experience where participants earn about kumeyaay culture, including the creation of paint from native plants and the production of art pieces. these events are open to the community, allowing for broader engagement and sharing of kumeyaay traditions, as well as promoting the kumeyaay community college. furthermore, kumeyaay community college also showcases the water culture of the kumeyaay people. one such activity held at the monthly events, is the construction of tule plant boats, which are then released into the water. this activity pays homage to the traditional maritime
