This event is designed to welcome newly accepted students and their families to Penn State. During this event our chapter and the main chapter take turns introducing ourselves i.e. school attended major graduation year current job or employment status and what we do within our organizations. We also split up the guest into a group for students or parent only. In the breakout sessions we answer questions give tips about scheduling classes or any other information that will benefit a student or parent. After the event we offer to keep in touch with students and parents during their journey at Penn State with the hope that theyll join the alumni association and its mission.\n\nThe second program is the Student Check in. Developed during covid this virtual event was intended to simply check in with students mainly first years to see how they are doing. We tend to switch up the opening by either asking alumni or students icebreakers or simply introduce each org chapter. From there we place students in breakout sessions based on predetermined topics or majors and while providing students with the option to choose where they want to go. The outcome of these check ins have been newly formed relationships between alumni and students or simply helping a student get through a tough time during a given semester. The plan is to keep this program virtual so that students and alumni from all over can attend.\n\nThe third largest program accomplishment was supporting a local church pantry. We helped the church bag groceries in preparation to give to local families in need. Although it was a small group that participated the impact on local families were huge.","year":2022,"name":"PENN STATE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION","type":"990EZ","foreign_countries":["Algeria","Angola","Benin","Botswana","British Indian Ocean Territory","Burkina Faso","Burundi","Cameroon","Cape Verde","Central African Republic","Chad","Comoros","DR Congo","Djibouti","Egypt","Equatorial Guinea","Eritrea","Eswatini","Ethiopia","Gabon","Gambia","Ghana","Guinea","Guinea-Bissau","Ivory Coast","Kenya","Lesotho","Liberia","Libya","Madagascar","Malawi","Mali","Mauritania","Mauritius","Mayotte","Morocco","Mozambique","Namibia","Niger","Nigeria","Republic of the Congo","Rwanda","Réunion","Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha","Senegal","Seychelles","Sierra Leone","Somalia","South Africa","South Sudan","Sudan","São Tomé and Príncipe","Tanzania","Togo","Tunisia","Uganda","Western Sahara","Zambia","Zimbabwe"],"tax_period_begin":"2022-01-01T00:00:00","tax_period_end":"2022-12-31T00:00:00","address":"1096 Seven Springs Cir, Marietta, GA, 30068, USA","city":"Marietta","state":"GA","country":"USA","zip_code":"30068"},"Governance":{"501c3 determination":true},"Revenues":{"Other revenues":{"value":0,"Gross profit from sales of inventory":0}},"Assets":{"value":2700,"Savings and temp cash investments":2700},"Fund balance":{"value":2700},"Form990Details":{"officers_directors_key_employees":[{"person_name":"Brittany Banks","title":"President","average_hours_per_week_devoted_to_position":2.0,"compensation":0,"employee_benefit_contributions":0,"expense_account_allowances":0,"name":"Brittany Banks"},{"person_name":"Brian Burgess","title":"Vice President","average_hours_per_week_devoted_to_position":2.0,"compensation":0,"employee_benefit_contributions":0,"expense_account_allowances":0,"name":"Brian Burgess"},{"person_name":"Briana Thompson","title":"Treasurer","average_hours_per_week_devoted_to_position":2.0,"compensation":0,"employee_benefit_contributions":0,"expense_account_allowances":0,"name":"Briana Thompson"}]},"ScheduleA":{"public_charity_status":{"school_170b1_aii":true}},"ScheduleB":{"attached":false},"ScheduleE":{"policies":{"nondiscriminatory_policy_statement":true,"policy_statement_in_brochures":true,"policy_publicized_broadcast_media":true},"records":{"maintain_racial_composition_records":true,"maintain_scholarship_records":true,"maintain_copies_brochures":true,"maintain_copies_solicitations":true},"discrimination":{"students_rights_or_privileges":false,"admissions_policies":false,"employment_faculty_or_staff":false,"scholarships_or_financial_aid":false,"educational_policies":false,"use_of_facilities":false,"athletic_programs":false,"other_extracurricular_activities":false},"government_aid":{"received_government_financial_aid":false,"government_financial_aid_revoked":false},"compliance":{"compliance_with_rev_proc_75_50":true},"supplemental_information":[{"form_and_line_reference":"Part 1, line 3","explanation":"The organization has a page dedicated to declaring its nondiscriminatory statements.
