For an average of $250 Career Closet purchased each client 2 pair WASH and wear slacks, 2 WASH and wear dress shirts, a pair of socks and a pair of dress shoes. We also provided sports coats for certain men receiving awards for their accomplishments through the CalWORKs employment program.\n\nThe third program component directly related to federal TARP funding, also secured through Santa Clara County, which allowed Career Closet to provide skin care classes and grooming/hair cuts to disadvantaged men and women enrolled in the CalWORKs employment program. We provided over 300 services, with the skin care class taught by a Mary Kay consultant who donated her time as well as $25 worth of product to each client; the average remaing cost to Career Closet was $58. All haircuts were provided at $20 each.\n\nThe final component also related to federal TARP funding, which allowed Career Closet to purchase clothing for hard to fit and petite women when we were unable to provide the full dressing experience. Through an agreement with The Men's Wearhouse, each man received 2 pair of slacks, 2 shirts, a tie, a pair of socks and a pair of dress shoes. We paid an average of $275 for each wardrobe, submitted the receipts to the County and received reimbursement for the funds.\n\nThe Third Program Service Accomplishment is also an extension of the TARP contract with Santa Clara County, which allowed Career Closet to offer hair cuts at a local salon; we paid $20 and the salon donated the other $10 of the service. We also offered skin care classes, which were taught by a Mary Kay representative. In this class each person learned how to properly take care of their skin and apply proper make up for the work environment. Each person received a skin care set and a starter set of makeup.
