Our approach minimizes the stress which women and their families suffer and ensures unprecedented access to screening and diagnostic services, and the latest therapies and procedures, while delivering care in a sensitive and expeditious manner, regardless of one's ability to pay. The breast care center provides over 600 underinsured and uninsured women with complete medical screening and diagnostic services each year through its medically underserved initiative. The center provides services at its bridgeport hospital and fairfield locations, including medical oncology, surgical and chemotherapy services, plastic surgery, mammography and radiation therapy, and genetic risk assessment as well as opportunities to participate in clinical trials. The center has a satellite office in trumbull. Support services total served: 116 the breast care center provides comprehensive patient support activities to help women through the breast cancer journey and enhance their lives as survivors. Services include counseling, and health and wellness programs for patients, survivors and families, such as nutrition counseling, mental health counseling, free support groups, naturopathic medicine, reiki therapy, massage therapy, wig and prosthesis fitting.
