The case managers provide the appropriate level of case management, services and supports, based on family need as well as ongoing safety and well-being assessments.\n\nFoster care licensed placements have been reduced by 34% overall. We expanded our foster care recruitment and retention program (foster homes) to include an additional level of care to allow children stepping down from specialized therapeutic placements or in need of a slightly higher level of care than traditional foster care which in referred to as our enhanced foster care level.\n\nCare management includes a variety of wrap around services which support children and families throughout different stages of their case, e.g.: adoptions and parenting education programs. The flexibility of the iv-e waiver dollars have afforded the child welfare system the capacity to provide more non-traditional and innovative services. One agency provides case management for st. Lucie county, and the other agency provides case management services for martin county, indian river county and okeechobee county. The primary goal of case management for children served in their home is to ensure that the children are safe and to prevent unnecessary placement in out-of-home care. The primary goal of case management for children receiving out-of-home care is to ensure appropriate and stable placements and appropriate services for the child and family to ensure that permanency is achieved within 12 months. The case managers provide the appropriate level of case management, services and supports, based on family need as well as ongoing safety and well-being assessments.\n\nAdoptions: united for families subcontracts for adoption recruitment, case management, and support services. The program has again exceeded its performance target for the year, ensuring permanent homes for a record number of treasure coast children. Support services have expanded in repsonse to adoptive family interest, and works to ensure that adoptive famileis are nurtured through the post-adoption adjustment period, and at any point thereafter in their lives that the family seeks additional support.\n\nFoster care licensed placements have been reduced by 34% overall. Annual clothing allowances were extended to all children in out of home care settings (not just those in licensed care settings) which afforded this benefit to children also residing with relatives.\n\nIndependent living\n\nClient assistance\n\nOther program services","year":2012,"name":"UNITED FOR FAMILIES INC","phone":"7723982920","website":"WWW.UFF.US","type":"990","principal_officer":"CHAD COLLINS","year_formation":2002,"state_legal_domicile":"FL","total_volunteers":26,"tax_period_begin":"2012-07-01T00:00:00","tax_period_end":"2013-06-30T00:00:00","address":"10570 S FEDERAL HWY STE 201 NO 300, PORT SAINT LUCIE, FL, 349525606, USA","city":"PORT SAINT LUCIE","state":"FL","country":"USA","zip_code":"349525606"},"Governance":{"501c3 determination":true,"Number of voting members":8,"Number of independent voting members":8,"Number of employees total":169,"Total Gross UBI":0,"Net unrelated business taxable income":0,"Number of employees":169,"Prohibited tax shelter transactions":false,"Taxable party notification":false,"Funds to pay premiums":false,"Premiums Paid":false,"Family or business relationship":false,"Delegation of management duties":false,"Conflict of interest policy":true,"Whistle blower policy":true,"Compensation process for CEO":true,"Compensation process for other employees":true,"Changes to organizing documents":false,"Material diversion or misuse":false,"Members or stockholders":false,"Election of board members":false,"Decisions subject to approval":false,"Minutes of governing body":true,"Local chapters":false,"Form 990 provided to governing body":true,"Document retention policy":true,"Investment in joint venture":false,"Independent audit financial statements":true,"Consolidated audit financial statements":false,"Accountant compile or review":false,"Financial statements audited by independent accountant":true,"Audit committee":true,"Federal grant audit required":true,"Federal grant audit performed":true,"Audited financial statements separate":true,"Political activities":false,"Donor advised funds":false,"Conservation easements":false,"Collections of art":false,"School":false,"Hospital":false,"Foreign activities":false,"Foreign office":false,"Gaming":false,"Fundraising activities":true,"Professional fundraising":false,"Loan to officer or DQP":false,"Grant to related person":false,"Business relationship through family member":false,"Business relationship with organization":false,"Transfers to exempt non-charitable organization":false},"Revenues":{"value":26172823,"Contributions":{"value":26058524,"Other contributions":77554,"Campaigns":5647,"Grant revenue":25975323},"Program revenue":{"value":83539,"Total revenue":83539,"Unrelated business revenue":0},"Investment income":{"value":47,"Investment income total":47},"Other revenues":{"value":30713,"Other total":8,"Net income from fundraising events":30705}},"Expenses":{"value":26127338,"Grant expense":{"value":10876972,"Grants to domestic orgs":10876972},"Total professional fundraising expense":{"value":0},"Benefits paid to members":{"value":0},"Salaries":{"value":5721529,"Current officers":414506,"Other salaries and wages":4047483,"Pension plan contributions":77193,"Other employee benefits":844952,"Payroll taxes":337395},"Other expenses":{"value":9528837,"Accounting":169290,"Other services":2199,"Office expenses":370426,"Information technology":268190,"Occupancy":961583,"Travel":139564,"Depreciation and depletion":13759,"Insurance":70124,"Itemized Expenses":{"value":7180305,"VARIOUS":7180305},"All other expenses":353397}},"Assets":{"value":1871807,"Non-interest bearing cash":1380407,"Accounts receivable":144746,"Prepaid expenses deferred charges":151971,"Land, building, equipment":85911,"Investments program related":46084,"Other assets":62688},"Liabilities":{"value":1557758,"Accounts payable, accrued":1432190,"Deferred, revenue":16127,"Escrow account liability":109441},"Fund balance":{"value":314049},"Form990Details":{"program_service_accomplishments":[{"description":"CASE MANAGEMENT: UNITED FOR FAMILIES SUBCONTRACTS WITH TWO AGENCIES FOR CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES.
