The main goal of the conference is to provide enhanced educational opportunities for professional development through expert speakers, breakout sessions, make-and-take workshops, and tours to exemplary schools to visit classrooms in action. Another goal of the conference is to offer peer support, networking, and motivation to continue striving to advance innovative practices for better schools. Isi hosted a leadership dinner at the conference that was attended by 50 principals and district leaders. The conference also includes an awards luncheon to recognize exemplary child and teams educators, including a $1,000 cash award to a teacher designated as the 'classroom champion for change.' publications and teacher resources - during 2010 isi provided ongoing support to over 800 teachers reaching approximately 20,000 students at 52 schools in 6 states. Publications included 10 editions of teacher tips, a monthly posting of classroom ideas and technology connections for teachers; 3 editions of the leading edge, a print newsletter with news about child and teams teachers; and, 3 editions of imail, a print newsletter with information about the institutes work and clients. Isi produced new teacher products for use in the classroom and to enhance professional development. These included transition flip cards, go green sleeves, and a video resource library showing exemplary classroom practices. Isi also developed 2 new 'workshops in a box' to add to its lending library for schools to conduct after school training at no additional expense.
