The program offers an outstanding series of classes and workshops for students, teachers, choreographers and other professionals, and nearly a dozen public performances and events in a 10-day period. The festival celebrates dance as art, as a means of personal and social expression, and strives to enlighten and entertain a diverse public audience. In 2011, festival activities reached over 100 students and over 1,000 audience members.\n\nFda sponsors and presents weekend-long workshops specifically for high school and middle school age students. These programs offer classes and workshops, performing opportunities and scholarship auditions for florida college dance programs, the florida dance festival and other summer dance programs.
