Gsa completed its last tour under the lowe's sponsorship in november 2008 and has remained in storage through 2010. Tasks during this period included wrap-up tasks and research on other sponsorship options, as well as sale. During 2010, an agreement with the children's health education center of wisconsin, through a grant from kohl's department stores, will allow gsa to launch a tour in 2011 in wisconsin.home safety council websites and publicationsthe home safety council's websites and publications serve as a comprehensive collection of tools and home safety information to help the public make informed decisions about safeguarding their families. These resources target parents, schools, businesses, communities and policy makers. For 2010, hsc was engaged in testing some of the social media options through facebook and twitter. Education and outreachhsc implements programs within the top five home injury risk areas to promote improved safety practices through behavioral changes by providing information and products to targeted audiences, such as the low-literacy community, special age groups, and high-risk audiences. My safe home.org mysafehome.org is a navigable virtual home that uses state-of-the-art digital graphics animation to bring home safety to anyone on a computer. It focuses primarily on the top five causes of accidents in and around the home and the need for disaster preparedness. The site helps users identify major risk areas and presents key safety devices and preparedness plans. Msh.org also offers opportunities to sponsors to collaborate on educational sections of the site. Enhancements for 2010 were included in the fema 6. Research and evaluationto ensure hsc is providing the accurate and relevant home injury prevention information and developing metrics for its educational programming, it commissions reports, initiates surveys and program evaluations, and works cooperatively with the academic community, federal agencies, and other research organizations. Falls preventionhsc works with its nonprofit and federal partners to support the activities of the falls free coalition. Also, through hsc's safe steps program and relationships with the aging community, this awareness building initiative encourages families to identify and correct potential slips and falls hazards in and around the home. Activities in 2010 were limited, as a part of transitioning the older adult falls activities to a member of the falls free coalition advisory group. Home safety montheach year, a comprehensive educational campaign is initiated to bring national attention to the problem of unintentional injuries and key risk areas, including falls, poisoning, fires and burns, choking/suffocation and drowning. An emphasis is placed on consumer and workplace awareness. This was the third year for the good housekeeping special magazine supplement.partnerships and expert networkto help support local safety advocates' public education outreach, hsc created the expert network to provide them with free and low-cost education resources to promote home injury prevention in their local communities. My safe home.org mysafehome.org is a navigable virtual home that uses state-of-the-art digital graphics animation to bring home safety to anyone on a computer. It focuses primarily on the top five causes of accidents in and around the home and the need for disaster preparedness. The site helps users identify major risk areas and presents key safety devices and preparedness plans. Msh.org also offers opportunities to sponsors to collaborate on educational sections of the site. Enhancements for 2010 were included in the fema 6. Research and evaluationto ensure hsc is providing the accurate and relevant home injury prevention information and developing metrics for its educational programming, it commissions reports, initiates surveys and program evaluations, and works cooperatively with the academic community, federal agencies, and other research organizations. Falls preventionhsc works with its nonprofit and federal partners to support the activities of the falls free coalition. Also, through hsc's safe steps program and relationships with the aging community, this awareness building initiative encourages families to identify and correct potential slips and falls hazards in and around the home. Activities in 2010 were limited, as a part of transitioning the older adult falls activities to a member of the falls free coalition advisory group.
