Our programs build academic and social skills to help youth reach their full potential in school and in life.\n\nYwca economic empowerment programs provide comprehensive financial literacy, counseling, job readiness, career development and case management services to unemployed and underemployed women. The ywca also partners with local colleges and trade associations to provide job training. Through our programs women gain the information, skills and confidence they need to become self-sufficient and reach their goals. Last year, 389 women received financial counseling and case management, 58 clients completed job readiness training, 154 clients were provided assistance with obtaining and/or maintaining affordable housing.\n\nThrough dialogue, action and advocacy the ywca works to improve race relations and decrease racial disparities in education, income and health. During the program year, the ywca hosted study circles on race and ethnic relations at 12 area schools. A community-wide study circle and two community forums brought together diverse members of the community to examine the impact of racism on our community.
