It is ranked second among private schools in the district by the ministry of education. In october the annual science fair was held and 17 students presented their science research projects to judges who selected the winners.the a4t schools in sheik yassin, wardak province provided education to more than 162 girl students in 5 home schools. Grades 1 through 6 follow the curriculum of the ministry of education. A council of school principals in wardak province held meetings with the a4t principal monthly to discuss improving their schools. The afghan ministry of education began paying salaries of 12 of the a4t boys' school teachers in march and continued the rest of the year. The 610 boy students attended school in two shifts per day in 1st through 9th grades.\n\nAgriculture and vocational training programs:the briquette project trained afghans in the production and marketing of fuel briquettes using burnable materials, providing income opportunities as they train others in kandahar and parwan provinces and at our kabul production center. The project includes literacy training.the cooperative poultry project trained 80 farmers (40 men and 40 women) in logar province to raise healthy hens to produce high quality eggs and construct chicken coops. The project provided all materials and chickens.\n\nHealth post:the abdullah omar health post in shiek yassin, wardak province provides over 2,118 families in 35-40 villages in the chak district, wardak province with health care information, medical treatment by doctors and medicine. Midwife services were added in october of 2011 for women and their newborns. A small fee is charged for services and medicines, except for the poor who can't pay.\n\nThe kabul office is used for meetings between board members, managers and staff and administering project activity. It is also used for report preparation and writing grant proposals for funding projects. The office is located on the first floor of the guest house and many of the guests staying there are also volunteers serving on a4t projects and/or on other projects parallel to our mission.
