filmmaking and writing competitions. we assist emerging artists by equipping them vocationally and spiritually. we aim to make great art for the world to enjoy. we have been a tremendous boost and advantage to our community, seeding the clouds with filmmakers of faith since 2003. we have gotten in touch with many of the good the filmmakers of faith in this country and in others, and we have made them better artists by giving them good opportunities and exciting rewards. after over 1,100 bible-based films in 17 years, we are a catalyst for change for hollywood and ultimately, the world. we want to challenge the existing perception of faith-based art, to act as a beacon for weary christians and to draw others to the truth. the pace and difficulty of our speed filmmaking competition shapes people quickly, driving them toward a better understanding of the word of god and toward mastery of their craft. part iii, line 28: program service accomplishments 2019: the year 2019: the 17th annual 168 film festival was held august 24-25, 2019 with wonderfully diverse rebirth-themed film submissions from around the world, sponsored by arri, winter star productions, roush media, advent media and 8168 productions. ticket sales were up sharply and we returned to our usual 2-day festival length (the 2018 festival was only 1-day). moving to the amc-16 cinema in burbank (from downtown las regal theater) made a huge positive difference in ticket sales, likely due to audience/attendee perception of more favorable costs and parking in burbank. the 168 film festival 2019 jury included france, $2500 cash from the peter glenville foundation and a $10k panavision certificate for services. kamp could not make the trip to receive the award, because of his acceptance into the directors immersive for emerging australian film directors. according to kamp, the 168 film project has been instrumental in preparing me for this, their innovative and focused film competition has allowed me to quickly develop and hone my directing skills. we have a tiny film industry here, and without 168, i dont know if i would have continued to pursue a career in film directing. im excited for what the faith), a story about an extraordinary young girl with cancer. eight-year-old newcomer zion broadnax won best supporting actress and her co-star, nicole d. watts won best actress for her role as lydia. broadnax (and the 168 film festival) was featured on kcal 9 tv for her part in the film. the best actor award went to englands chris o'reilly as axel in the other way, directed by marcus wood. the best write of passage film honors went to sunday school, directed by yvette sams and produced by alicia schudt-schechter & yvette sams. best comedy was d.O.G., directed by john lockmer and produced by justin manntai. best documentary went to aim for independent living by ashley sanchez and mark baird, featuring ozark & jack reacher actor and 168 film festival presenter, evan george vourazeris. best student film went to rewind directed by dustin kahia and produced by cameron haddad. the antique shop from perennial 168 favorite and director, christopher wiegand, won five awards including best director, best cinematography, best editor, best production design and best sound design. the audience favorite awards went to don't talk about jesus! produced and directed by ian eyre and to sunday school directed by yvette sams and produced by alicia schudt-schechter & yvette sams. in 2019, the 168 film festival accepted entries from films outside the production competition. the best 168 open film was unfaithful, directed by darin goldberg and produced by laura bunbury, lisa bunbury and jennifer taylor. the first 168 feature film: the first 168 feature film will be released in 2020. final frequency producers derrick warfel and john david ware are confident that the film will be very successful and engaging for audiences. final frequency is the realization of the dream we have had from the beginning of the 168 film project; to make feature films and tv with a christian worldview, said ware. a portion of the net revenue from final frequency will be donated to 168 hour film project. its the first feature length film under the 168/8168 and winter star banners. \"final frequency\" synopsis: phd student esther connects unusual tremors in l.A. to rogue scientists, who are desperately seeking nikola tesla's lost notebook. if captured, teslas deadly research will enhance the destructive power of their master plan to manipulate thoughts and to manufacture an epic earthquake to take out world leaders during the g-20 world economic summit. the key is the professor, who has vanished along with the notebook. esther and her tribe of misfits are the only hope to find him before the g-20 is reduced to ashes and rubble. \"final frequency\" asks the question: are all men and women are created equal or do some deserve special privileges and have more worth? final shapes people quickly, driving them toward a better understanding of the word of god and toward mastery of their craft. part iii, line 28: program service accomplishments 2019-2020: the 2020 168 project and film festival were cancelled. pushing the \"pause\" button allowed us the time to reflect on our past and to plan for our future. we elected to pare down expenses and weather the storm of the bat virus disaster and all of the things that it changed in our lives and in our way of doing business. the lord has taken care of 168 and happily; we are back in business in 2021. since 2003, 168
