In addition to retail pharmacists, superiorhealth pharmacy employs clinical pharmacist who offer medication therapy management and medication adherence programs and are active members of the superiorhealth center clinic disease management team.firstsolutions, by board action, sold its clinics and pharmacies as of april 1, 2011.\n\nFirstsolutions has a contract with several other insurers to provide health management services. Health management services is designed to improve member's health outcomes and lower health care costs. Rn care navigators assist members in understanding their health status, provide personal guidance, and offer insightful advice and education opportunities to maintain and improve health. Care navigators help participants track their status to reduce the likelihood of a major health event, thereby reducing workplace absenteeism, increasing productivity, and improving overall body/mind wellness. The following services are offered: case management, utilization management, care coordination, personal health advocacy, predictive and chronic disease management, workplace wellness programs, prenatal support, pediatric support, and pharmaceutical management.\n\nThe firstsolutions claims processing center staff continued their work adjudicating claims for blue cross blue shield of minnesota until april 30, 2010 at which time the contract ended and the claims processing center closed.\n\nFirstsolutions ceased quoting and writing insured policies as a health maintenance organization (hmo) in 2009. Discontinued operations on the financial statements include amounts related to the cessation of this operation. The gross revenue includes final settlements on premiums and claims.\n\nIn 2009, firstsolutions entered into a disaffiliation agreement with bcbsm. This agreement a) removed bcbsm as the sole corporate member of firstsolutions, b) documented mutal agreement of cessation of the hmo operations, c) created a provision for revised stop-loss reinsurance arrangements in connection with hmo cessation, d) terminated and/or modified certain agreements between firstsolutions and bcbsm, e) defined certain mutual business covenants of the parties, f) and other miscellaneous terms. As part of its strategic plan, firstsolutions sought out and obtained regulatory approval from the minnesota department of commerce to cease quoting and writing insured policies as a health maintenance organization (hmo) effective june 30, 2009. In the current year, discontinued operations on the financial statements include amounts related to the cessation of this operation. The gross revenue includes final settlements on premiums and claims. In 2010, firstsolutions ceased operations of the tpu2 claims processing center, which included layoff of the remaining staff. In addition, the community nursing service was sold to an outside entity. Early in 2010, firstsolutions, by board action, decided to actively pursue the sale of its clinics and pharmacies. On january 28, 2011, firstsolutions executed an agreement to sell its clinics and pharmacies.
