technology students, 3 physical therapist assistant students, 1 eeg/end student, 2 patient care technician students, 1 lab assisting student, and 1 energy student. most of the surgery tech students were hired out of their internships. early data suggests that pay averages about $21 per hour. that amount is likely to increase after they finish the required certification tests and licensing. the eeg/end student was hired by barrows neurological institute and will take her certification in a few months. our lab assisting student is working at the clinical site where she completed her internship. the 2 patient care technician students were part of a small number of students accepted to continue on to the fast track practical nursing program at gateway community college and will begin that program in the fall. during the grant year, acp students were able to complete more than 280 classes and more than 840 credit hours toward certificate or degree completion. each class completed helps students move forward in their programs and helps them grow individually and professionally. additionally, follow ups with graduated and working arizona career pathways alumni showed an average increase in wages of $3.06 per hour over the previous year; their average wage now hovers around $21.00 per hour. follow-ups with graduates indicate they tend to keep their jobs, are promoted, or elect to continue their educations. in may, one of our 2015 him degree students completed her bachelors degree in healthcare administration. since she just completed her ba, we do not have any employment data yet, but with a thorough grounding in the revenue cycle of healthcare facilities she achieved through the associates degree acp helped her obtain, we have no doubt she will be
