In 2015, we served eight schools in loudoun county through social enrichment programs. We trained 28 teachers and served 52 students across our schools, helping students with developmental disabilities enhance their social ability. In addition, we supported teachers in adapting social curriculum into their classrooms during the school day and helped build community awareness of social learing and its benefits for all students.\n\nKids connect 5k fundraiser: the purpose of kids connect 5k is to raise awareness of the importance of social development in our school communities. Kids connect gathered seven school communities in loudoun county to give students the chance to connect and have a fun, social experience through a 5k race and festival. Funds raised from kids connect 5k support each school's marvin's club program and the training of school staff in best-in-class social curriculum. There were about 600 participants at this event.\n\nCamp connect launches at discovery elementary. In summer 2015, developmental connections launched a free social learning summer camp, camp connect, at discovery elementary school, and 20 students participated in a two-week camp based on the social thinking trademarked curriculum. Camp connect provided an inclusive environment, which gave students with social learning challenges a fun camp experience while providing their peers with leadership and social learning development. In summer 2016, developmental connections launched a private, social skills summer camp. We extensively expanded the depth of camp connect from previous years. We designed curriculum for four weeks to help children with social learning challenges have a supported and fun camp for the summer - often a hard challenge to find for parents. Overall, 20 students participated in the program, and we received great feedback from parents.
