The two target populations for mishnock are returning veterans and sexual assault survivors with posttraumatic stress disorder. While some psychological needs of veterans are covered by the va, the va in northern california does not cover emdr (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and many of those in need are also low income individuals. Alameda county has a population of 1.5 million with 70,000+ veterans and 11.4% of the population at or below the poverty level so there is a critical need for mishnock's services. In 2018, the mishnock center served three families, three couples and twelve individual adults. Diagnoses include posttraumatic stress disorder, complex trauma disorders, acute stress disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders and relational stressors.family appointments and couples therapy are 90 minutes to two hours, emdr sessions are 90 minutes, and individual therapy sessions are 60 minutes. If clients are in crisis then the client may have two appointments weekly until stabilized. Crisis appointments are available weekly. Clinical care hours per week range from 15-25 hours.eligibility for service is determined by the following criteria: a. Low income - income limits based on 2018 hud california state income level based on actual number of persons in household and total of gross income for all persons.b. Mental health disorder: disorders that relate to traumac. Screening inventoriesd. Clinical interviewe. Public servant: a public servant is generally a person who is employed by the government, either through appointment or election and includes police officers, paid and volunteer firefighters, health officers, child protective services social workers, and other city personnel authorized to enforce city ordinances, statutes, and codes.f. Exclusion criteria: chronic suicidal intent, severe domestic violence, psychotic disorders, psychopathy.most clients seen have complicated trauma (complex post-traumatic stress disorder is a psychological disorder thought to occur as a result of repetitive, prolonged trauma involving sustained abuse or abandonment by a caregiver or other interpersonal relationships with an uneven power dynamic) which requires longer term care. Simple and specific trauma incidents will typically last three to 12 sessions, whereas complicated trauma treatment may take over a year. IN 2018, THE MISHNOCK CENTER SERVED THREE FAMILIES, THREE COUPLES AND TWELVE INDIVIDUAL ADULTS. DIAGNOSES INCLUDE POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER, COMPLEX TRAUMA DISORDERS, ACUTE STRESS DISORDERS, DEPRESSIVE DISORDERS, ANXIETY DISORDERS, BIPOLAR DISORDERS AND RELATIONAL STRESSORS.FAMILY APPOINTMENTS AND COUPLES THERAPY ARE 90 MINUTES TO TWO HOURS, EMDR SESSIONS ARE 90 MINUTES, AND INDIVIDUAL THERAPY SESSIONS ARE 60 MINUTES. IF CLIENTS ARE IN CRISIS THEN THE CLIENT MAY HAVE TWO APPOINTMENTS WEEKLY UNTIL STABILIZED. CRISIS APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE WEEKLY. CLINICAL CARE HOURS PER WEEK RANGE FROM 15-25 HOURS.ELIGIBILITY FOR SERVICE IS DETERMINED BY THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: A. PUBLIC SERVANT: A PUBLIC SERVANT IS GENERALLY A PERSON WHO IS EMPLOYED BY THE GOVERNMENT, EITHER THROUGH APPOINTMENT OR ELECTION AND INCLUDES POLICE OFFICERS, PAID AND VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS, HEALTH OFFICERS, CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES SOCIAL WORKERS, AND OTHER CITY PERSONNEL AUTHORIZED TO ENFORCE CITY ORDINANCES, STATUTES, AND CODES.F. SIMPLE AND SPECIFIC TRAUMA INCIDENTS WILL TYPICALLY LAST THREE TO 12 SESSIONS, WHEREAS COMPLICATED TRAUMA TREATMENT MAY TAKE OVER A YEAR.
