projects.Form 990 ez, part iii, line 28community building/capital project - the cdc strengthened communications with the county agency which owns a park within the neighborhood, and may be a potential site for the multi-purpose, community building we hope for and sorely need. the agency expressed a willingness to search legal records to determine exactly what they own, if the land title records would allow the construction of the building, and whether or not a 99-year lease of the land to the cdc is legally possible. form 990 ez, part iii, line 29overlook project - we met with the land developers on a quarterly basis to review site work, and its impact on the rear yards of the adjacent homeowners on russell avenue. we also organized a community meeting to meet with the selected builder, ryan homes, to review its proposed changes to the exteriors of its townhouse structures. their proposals to eliminate some of the brick materials and replace the spaces with vinyl, was determined by the community to be inconsistent and negative. ryan homes subsequently dropped its proposed changes to the exteriors. approximately 4,500 persons were affected.Form 990 ez, part iii, line 30business quality on chillum road - an effort to upgrade the quality of businesses along one of our main roads, and thereby attract new or improved uses, was a considerable focus of activity. the cdc organized opposition to the renewal of a liquor license of the mustangs strip club, which has served as a blight for more than 40 years. this organization also vigorously opposed the effort of this business to receive an approval to continue its operation through the countys zoning system based on outdated standards of non-conforming uses, given its proximity to the residential segment of the neighborhood. the cdc also spent a considerable effort and expense to participate in the countys project to examine outdated zoning regulations, which have hampered the improvement of chillum road properties. an examination of more than 1,000 pages of proposals took place, and several recommendations for modifications were submitted. approximately 4,500 persons were 2015 was to educate the neighborhood as to the need to establish a small, administrative/program space (i.E. a welcome center), to serve as an initial base of operation for this ultimate capital campaign. communicated with over 800 households through fliers to advance this concept, at an approximate cost of $120.Form 990 ez, part iii, line 29neighborhood environmental protection - met with officials of the countys public safety personnel on several occasions at their monthly coffee club meetings held in the chillum area, of which we are a part. issues were raised as to the nature of digging and earth movement at the washington gas company, which owns and operates a highly dangerous, 22 acre property, pressuree station, and related regional transmission pipelines located within our boundaries. communicated these efforts and other natural gas cautions to over 800 households within our june 2015 newsletter. our entire resident population of approximately 4,500 benefits from this advocacy. approximately $230 was expended to support this program service.Form 990 ez, part iii, line 30economic development advocacy-(a) overlook project. reached an agreement with a developer which intends to construct a 74 unit townhouse development within our boundaries. finalized agreements related to several details which could have been detrimental to the economic health of this community had the advocay by cdc not taken place. solicited input from the residents, and communicated our negotiating activities to over 800 households through our newsletter, and by holding two special community meetings in july 2015.(b) washington baptist seminary. analyzed a zoning proposal submitted by the washington baptist seminary regarding their plans to operate a training school and church within our boundaries. this issue was advertised in our june newsletter, and discussed at our july community meetings with the attendees. we managed to agree on a letter of intent which will safeguard against excessive, on-street parking by their patrons, which would have potentially reduced the values of the homes in the north woodbridge subdivision.(c) queens chapel road. the cdc addressed several proposals made by the state highway administration to make changes to our most major traffic artery, queens chapel road (md 500). many of the proposals would have caused serious detrimental impacts to the economic health of our homeowners and businesses within our service area. special meetings were organized within the community, state sponsored meetings were attended by our board members, and the community was kept involved and informed through the newsletter and special fliers.These three major activities will benefit over 4,500 residents, i.E. the entire population of
