Working as an independent group, as well as in collaboration with synagogues and other organizations, hamakom programs are offered to enrich the spiritual lives of jews in our community.\n\nDescription/content: this two session series served as a further introduction and review to mussar concepts such as the development of middot, yetzer hara and yetzer tov, ahavat hashem and yirat hashem, and more. Students began their study of mesillat yesharim, and their personal practice of mussar, focusing on particular character traits as a foundation for joining students in the ongoing mussar practice group with rabbi stone. (hamakom has been offering mussar study with rabbi stone since january of 2011. Rabbi pinson will guide both beginning and experienced meditators in various types of jewish meditations, including visualizations, use of torah verses as a basis for contemplation, hitbodedut meditation, and breath meditation.
