mississippi. Geli provided immediate assistance initially in the form of food and other supplies. On may 30, 2011, we opened the geli promise school at cross bound church, which provided free childcare for smithville residents for the summer; the school's last day was july 29, 2011. Geli provided immediate assistance initially in the form of food and other supplies. On may 30, 2011, we opened the geli promise school at cross bound church, which provided free childcare for smithville residents for the summer; the school's last day was july 29, 2011. The majority of the disaster relief fund expenditures went toward the operation of the geli promise school, including building a playground, salaries of certified and licensed childcare workers, food and kitchen supplies, utilities, and a wide array of educational tools, toys, books and other supplies needed to take care of and educate young children.\n\nHorizon is a program designed to support the development of young children who are enrolled in licensed child care centers in monroe county . Science has now confirmed that young children experience dramatic brain growth during the first years of life. The type of experiences they have affects how the brain develops which leads to how they learn to think.
