We have assisted in the certification of hundreds of trainees since 1978. We are listed as an approved training program with the wisconsin department of regulation and licensing. Our trainees have gone on to become clinical supervisors and independent clinical supervisors, trainers for aoda workshops, and directors of agencies, and some have gone into private practice.\n\nTraining of alcohol and other drug abuse (aoda) counselors and other professionals involved in substance abuse treatment took place in more than 30 workshops at our conferences. The association also organized additional one-day workshops focusing on specific training objectives. The annual spring conference is one of the leading substance abuse education programs in the midwest. The three-day conference was held in madison, wisconsin, and attracted over 350 aoda counselors, mental health professionals, physicians and nurses, social workers, and others. The just 4 teens conference had 80 youth attendees.\n\nThe association worked with other advocates across the state to promote health insurance coverage for mental health and addictive diseases on par with other illnesses.
