Hospice provided over 16,400 care days between july 1, 2011 and january 9, 2012 to approximately 340 patients. Hospice also offered a series of specialized, free of charge, bereavement programs for adults, children, and teens to the community at large, including support groups, educational workshops, and bereavement camps for area children and teens (camp dragonfly and camp draco). No one was ever denied hospice services because of their inability to pay, with fundraising dollars and donations offsetting the cost of providing care/services not reimbursed by insurance and bereavement support.
