of expanded impact for the office of the newark philanthropic liaison (npl), which has helped broker, align and leverage over $50 million in private sector support of public-private initiatives to enrich newark the quality of life in the city since its inception. following a very successful transition to a new liaison in 2016 the npl was deeply involved in a number of major initiatives in the city including a record breaking summer youth employment campaign. cnjg's extensive programming roster for members included meetings by a host of issue specific affinity groups such as funders for nj education, environmental funders, health & aging funders, newark, paterson and trenton/mercer funder groups. funder briefings, family foundation teleconferences, and skill building workshops were also developed and presented for members. the council provided members with over eighty grantmaker education and networking opportunities, including 3 signature events: the 2017 spring conference, the
