All the programs which Atlantic Human Resources administers are specifically designed to encourage and train the low-come residents in the Cape May County and Atlantic County area to become self sufficient. Atlantic Human Resources subscribes to a strict philosophy that every program must be implemented in a non-demeaning fashion.\n\nHousing Assistance Program- To alleviate homeownership and housing needs. Monthly meetings were held with each customer to increase their ability to manage their own affairs. As a result of the program 87% of the families maintained housing for at least six months once the subsidy ended. 50% of the families who receive a rent subsidy and were able to maintain their current residence. Atlantic Human Resources provided Home Energy Assistance to the community to alleviate heating and cooling needs of low-income residents and to eliminate the low income client from loosing their present home. These payments enable a client to sustain themselves until the LIHEAP applications are processed and paid. As a result of this program, 16,000 clients are able to avoid having their utilities shutoff during the period of November 1 through March 31 of each year. Reporting is done quarterly. 5.6 Pantry Program / 6.2 Food Program - Atlantic Human Resources has constructed this program to alleviate the aforementioned needs. This program ensures that nutrition is provided to low income families. The initial tally is taken from those clients who qualify through our intake process. The remaining number of families or clients are counted and recorded on a monthly basis. The pantries are funded on our fiscal year and reporting is done quarterly. The program is being implemented at several strategically convenient sites. As a result of this program 1,550 clients will benefit during the course of a year. 7.1 Referral Program-- Atlantic Human Resources has constructed this program to alleviate the aforementioned needs. This program is designed to ensure that a low income family or individual in need will receive the proper assistance. The program is run on a fiscal cycle of October 1 to September 30 and reporting is done quarterly. The program is implemented through our standard intake procedure. This entails forwarding the calls to the section of the office that handles the implementation of the program. As a result of this program, 16,000 clients are able to avoid having their utilities shutoff during the period of November 1 through March 31 of each year. This program ensures that nutrition is provided to low income families. The initial tally is taken from those clients who qualify through our intake process. The remaining number of families or clients are counted and recorded on a monthly basis. The pantries are funded on our fiscal year and reporting is done quarterly. The program is being implemented at several strategically convenient sites. As a result of this program 1,550 clients will benefit during the course of a year. 7.1 Referral Program-- Atlantic Human Resources has constructed this program to alleviate the aforementioned needs. This program is designed to ensure that a low income family or individual in need will receive the proper assistance. The program is run on a fiscal cycle of October 1 to September 30 and reporting is done quarterly. The program is implemented through our standard intake procedure. This entails forwarding the calls to the section of the office that handles the implementation of the program. As a result of this program 5,562 low income families or individuals are provided the needed assistance. 7.2 Childcare- - Atlantic Human Resources has constructed this program to alleviate the aforementioned needs. Namely, the need for a low income client to maintain employment and not loose a substantial part of their income by virtue of childcare needs. This program will meet the needs of the low income clients through this program. A Subsidy for childcare will be provided for qualified low income families. The child will then be provided with quality care, education, nutrition and safe environment. The centers provide this service year round with the fiscal cycle of October 1 through September 30 and reporting is done quarterly.
