Ccdc also hosted monthly presentations by the james river green building council and aia central virginia on design-related topics that were open to the general public.\n\nDesign education: in august 2009 ccdc hosted a one-week design enrichment program for rising 10th graders at charlottesville high school. The purpose of the program was to expose students to the practice of design through the lens of the city of charlottesville public housing redevelopment process. During the 2009-2010 academic year, ccdc co- taught an urban design process class at charlottesville high school building on concepts introduced during the summer enrichment program. Completion of a f\n\nDesign services: ccdc organized the 2nd annual design marathon on october 2, 2009, which enlisted over 60 local designers in providing 12 hours of pro bono design services to 12 local nonprofit organizations.
