its provider programs, provided nearly $16.7 million in funding to support charitable care and community benefit programs last year, including almost $9 million in direct home care services to under and uninsured new yorkers. when grants, foundation, and individual support are factored in, vnsny provided nearly $47 million in charitable care and community benefit to new york-area individuals and families in 2016. many of vnsnys services are delivered by vnsny home care ii, an affiliate of vnsny, which provides care to over 100,000 patients each year, and hospice and palliative care, which brings comfort, dignity and quality of life at the end of life for patients and their families. some services provided by these affiliates are delivered by vnsny charitable care and community benefit
