Hclc's adult education program is consistently ranked by nys education department in the top quartile for effectiveness of all wia funded adult education programs in the state for achieving educational gain, job placement and retention and entrance to job training and post secondary education among its participants.\n\nThe job placement program assists participants to find meaningful employment.our health careers training program has served over 250 students this past year. The goal of the program is to help low-income individuals gain the credentials they need to enter the health field and advance within it. We accomplish this through our established certified nurse aide training and phlebotomy/ekg programs, and have recently expanded our course offerings to patient care technician training. These training programs are supported, by hclc educational programs such as ged preparation and by the comprehensive support services (counseling, tutoring, childcare referrals, housing, utilities, legal services, immigration counseling, health care, job hunting assistance, facilitated peer support groups and a job coach) necessary to make certification and employment possible.\n\nThe family services program provides on going counseling and support to dysfunctional families in need. Through our family and community services programs we help families to improve mental health and interpersonal relationships, strengthen family functioning, build personal assets, and increase support networks, provide neighborhood organizing, as well as walk-in support services.
